Eric Kleinman

PERSONAL HISTORY:   Born and raised in the small town of Ellenville, New York, I am a  product of the Catskills but I have lived in Miami since 1989.  ​My wife  Karen and I currently reside in Coral Gables with our two Portuguese Waters Dogs, Tessa and Sandy Par.  We have two sons who we are very proud of, Jason a golf professional in San Diego and Adam who attends Northeastern University.  I have been a lawyer since 1992 and a  mediator since 2004.  Currently, my practice is dedicated solely to  serving as a neutral.

​EDUCATION:     I graduated from Ellenville Central School as Valedictorian in 1985.   I received my B.A. from University of Rochester in 1989, cum laude,  with a dual major in Political Science and Psychology.  In 1992, I  received my J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law.   

CERTIFICATIONS AND BAR MEMBERSHIPS:   I have been a member of the Florida Bar in good standing since 1992  and I am admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for  the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida as well as the Eleventh  Circuit Court of Appeals. I am a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit  Court Mediator (since 2004) and Appellate Mediator (since 2014).  I am  also certified as a mediator by the USDC for both the Southern  and MIddle Districts of Florida.   

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:   In 2004, we founded Kleinman & Arrizabalaga, PA and K&A Mediation.   For about a decade, our law firm represented plaintiffs and defendants  in matters of personal injury, insurance disputes, construction related  disputes, commercial disputes and real estate transactions.  My clients  included SIKON Construction, Kmart, Builders Square, Clarendon America Insurance Company and  First Mercury Insurance Company.  At this time, I work solely as a  neutral with K&A Mediation, a statewide mediation practice largely  dealing with personal injury disputes (premises, auto, professional  malpractice. . . ), first party insurance disputes (residential,  commercial, CGL, marine,. . . ), construction disputes and commercial  disputes.  I have mediated matters involving retailers such as Publix,  Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Winn-Dixie, Costco and BJ's.  I have  mediated claims involving carriers such as Citizens, Universal, Florida  Peninsula, State Farm, Southern Fidelity, Hartford, First Protective, Security First, Safepoint, London Underwriters, Prepared, e-surance, GEICO, Progressive, Allstate, Liberty Mutual,  Scottsdale, Tower Hill, Stillwater, QBE, Heritage, American Security, American Integrity, Olympus, Homeowners Choice, Anchor and many others.  Prior to K&A, I practiced law in the insurance defense department  at Adorno & Zeder, PA, which became Adorno Yoss, a large Miami firm.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:  I am an active member of Beth David Congregation, where I have served on the Board of Directors and on several committees.   I am a frequent golfer at The Biltmore and a 2 time participant in Everesting 29029.  Relative to  The University of Rochester, I am a member of the George Eastman Circle and active alumnus of The New York Xi Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
